T2K’s discovery of electron neutrino appearance was selected as one of the 100 top stories of 2013 in all sciences by Discover Magazine. The full list will appear in the January/February 2014 issue. “We selected the top 100 stories based in part on each item’s impact and implications on its particular field,” said the editor of Discover. Only 9 of the 100 stories were in the Math/Physics category, and T2K’s “Flavor-changing neutrinos” (see news item below) was at #66 .
