Professor Masayuki Nakahata, longtime Super-Kamiokande spokesperson and T2K collaborator, has received the prestigious Medal with Purple Ribbon, part of 2024 Autumn Honors from the government of Japan.
The Medal is awarded to people who have devoted themselves to a particular field of endeavour over many years, or who have made distinguished achievements in the fields of art or sports. The award recognizes Nakahata-san’s outstanding contribution to the development of neutrino physics and astrophysics, as well as underground scientific research.
